Airforce Museum

Ohio's museum system takes advantage of the state's role in historic trends as well as hosting traditional artwork. Some of Ohio's unique exhibition halls include:

  • The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton
  • The Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art
  • The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati
  • The Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus

Ohio also has a thriving private gallery districts in its major cities, including Columbus' Short North and Cleveland's Lakewood, while Cincinnati hosts the popular auction site Cincinnati Art Galleries. Ohio's smaller cities make their own substantial contributions to the state's gallery network, such as Athens, Oberlin and Yellow Springs. Fine Amish and Appalachian craftsmanship throughout the eastern half of Ohio add to the ability for residents to start or add to personal art collections without ever leaving the state.
