Ohio's southwest region is a hotbed for the pharmaceutical sector of the bioscience industry. Southwest Ohio is a leader in the food processing industry. Harkening back to Cincinnati's roots as a pork-processing center, the city is now host to food industry leaders including Chiquita Brands International and The Kroger Co.
Southwest Ohio is a strong financial services center, with Fifth Third Bancorp, American Financial, Western & Southern Financial and Ohio Casualty Group headquartered in the Cincinnati area.
